Biography

Dr. Ramirez's Experience

Dr. Ramirez’s passion for and commitment to women’s health was inspired by her work as a high school volunteer in Latin America, where she was first granted the opportunity to educate and empower women to live healthier lives. Dr. Ramirez practices compassionate and individualized care centered on a relationship of trust and shared decision-making with her patients. She is sensitive to the unique challenges a woman faces as her health care needs evolve over the course of her lifetime, and is committed to addressing those needs with empathy and evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Ramirez was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, but now considers herself a Texas transplant. She attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies. There she also received her medical degree and a Master of Public Health with an emphasis in health policy and administration. She decided to leave the state to complete her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at UT Health San Antonio, and fell in love with Texas.

Dr. Ramirez has always been passionate about and dedicated to teaching. During residency, she created a resident-as-teacher curriculum to train her fellow OB/GYN residents in how to be more effective educators to medical students and patients. She developed other innovative teaching tools, which she presented to medical educators from around the country at the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Faculty Development Seminar. Dr. Ramirez has been honored with the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Award for Humanism and Excellence in Teaching.

Dr. Ramirez's Family

In April 2018, she and her husband, Aaron, welcomed their daughter, Nayeli, into the world. Outside of medicine and motherhood, Dr. Ramirez enjoys traveling to both new and familiar places, watching football on weekends, and celebrating her multicultural background, especially through culinary adventures with family and friends. She speaks fluent Spanish and is very excited to join the team at North Texas Women’s Healthcare Associates.
